Meals For All
ABOUT US
MealsForAll seeks to provide support for the alleviation of hunger and malnutrition in Nigeria. It is registered as a project of Hapas Community Development Initiative, a non-governmental organization that is positioned to design multilateral intervention programs (Health, Nutrition, Education and Socio-economic Empowerment) in underserved communities and populations.
MealsForAll
Food-For-Education Program
We
operate on the principle that hunger must not be an obstacle to child
development. Statistics in Nigeria show that 1 of 5 children are malnourished
and Nigeria ranks 12th among the 20 countries most in need of a school feeding
program.
The School is the single largest place to find children and next to the home, it exerts the most influence on children. It is therefore the ideal setting for interventions that impact factors like good nutrition, health, academic achievement, physical and mental growth, cognitive development and school enrollment and attendance.
Since its inception in 2012, it has provided about 16,000 meals to public primary school children within the Somolu Local Government Area and Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
